Before 911 it took 21 months to re-instate my wife's green card after living in Canada for six years. I was involved with a Chinese mother and wife who, with an US Citizen husband and two small daughters had being invlovled with INS for over ten years before being arrested by Homeland Security at 4:00 am and jailed.
