Yes, they are looking to reappropriate the funds generated from the 80 cent tax increase into the "general state fund". So the tax will stay, and then the legislators can do whatever they want with this $... scary if you ask me. This tax was implemented as a result of voters showing their support for early childhood health and education. At least we know where the $ is going now. If Prop 302 is passed, not only would our children lose high quality child care, health insurance and other early childhood opportunities for a healthy and high quality life, but we wouldn't even know where the legislature would choose to put the $. At this rate, I'm not banking on them putting it into K-12 education or AHCCCS either.
