Lilo & Stitch

Lilo & Stitch

You gotta give credit to the creative minds at Disney for their continuing efforts to wrestle with traditional, drawn animation in this world of shiny, computerized cartoon epics. Lilo is an adorable and sometimes misbehaving 5-year-old Hawaiian girl with a habit of rescuing animals in peril. Her latest charge is Stitch, which (unbeknownst to all) is really a bio-engineered agent of destruction that has escaped from another planet. The cute li’l thing is bulletproof, fireproof, able to think faster than a supercomputer and it can lift, like, 1,000 times its own weight. Through a series of typically sweet shenanigans, Lilo teaches Stitch the meaning of love and family while outwitting animal control authorities and alien bounty hunters. Featuring the voice talents of Daveigh Chase as Lilo, as well as Tia Carrere, Jason Scott Lee, Ving Rhames and David Odgen Stiers, Lilo & Stitch is a winner from the animated old school and proverbially good for the whole family.
