Writer/Director Cedric Klapisch has
created an international a Real
World with just as much boring,
superficial dialogue but spoken in
multiple dialects. When French fireball
Romain Duris learns that being fluent in
Spanish is the key to entrepreneurial
success, he quickly moves to Barcelona
para estudiar espanol. There
Duris shares a co-ed apartment with a
half-dozen other college cronies from
around the world so the cultural
differences can be presented with
stereotypical crudity, school life can fade
into forgotten plot points, love interests
can ensue with lackluster predictability
and viewers can wish for a fast-forward
button built into their armrests.
