Kino Festival

The Kino Heritage Society hosts a celebration of explorer, astronomer, cartographer and priest Padre Eusebio Kino from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 18; free. Activities include a talk, "The Camino de Kino: Pilgrimage Trails of the Sonoran Desert," at 1 p.m.; followed by a classical performance by guitarist Francisco Bibriesca and light refreshments. A docent-led tour of the mission begins at 3 p.m. A book signing by Kathleen Walker, author of San Xavier: The Spirit Endures and an art show also are featured.
