Action, Comedy
Every now and then, a movie comes along that looks like it was assembled using a set of instructions—and it’s a wonder the actors don’t have giant lettered stickers on their backs so you can make sure they’re being put in the right place. Killers is such a movie, one that’s supposed to be fun only because it’s pitched as being fun, and the leads are supposed to have chemistry simply because they’re attractive. Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl might have been well-cast in something like this had the screenplay exhibited an ounce of originality or intelligence. Instead, they’re simply recognizable stars doing recognizable (and boring) things. He’s a spy; she doesn’t know; and then the bad guys come. It’s time to change the blueprint.
