While I found Vol. 1 to be one of the
funnier movies of the post-war period, I
must say that Vol. 2 is a bit of a
letdown. Tarantino jammed all the
exposition into this half, and there are
some incredibly extended sequences of
people sitting down and talking about the
movie that were watching. It's kind of a
waste of talent, since David Carradine
was removed from his crypt and revivified
for this film. His performance is great,
and he should make more posthumous
films, but it would have been nice if hed
had a little more to do than present
monologues on What Has Gone Before.
Still, theres a bunch of well-shot action
sequences; Uma Thurman is surprisingly
good; and you get to see someones eye
get plucked out not once, but twice.
