A psychedelic trip into the world of contemporary Japanese pop culture, Kamikaze Girls is the story of Momoko, a fan of the Lolita look, and her encounters with Ichigo, a Yanki who likes spitting, fighting and girls in frilly skirts. Ichigo forcibly befriends Momoko and makes her go on a quest to find the worlds greatest embroiderer. Meanwhile, semi-fictional motorcycle gangs turn into cartoons and narrate strange creation myths while fighting for meaningless supremacy in a world of cow patties and giant Buddha statues. Kamikaze Girls is successfully strange and shallow and acid-colored, which may or may not be a good thing, depending on how high you scored on your Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Index.
