Romantic comedy
Leslie Wright (Queen Latifah) is a die-hard basketball fan and physical therapist. After a chance meeting with her favorite player, Scott McKnight (Common), at a gas station, she is invited to his home for a birthday party. She takes her spoiled, beautiful godsister Morgan (Paula Patton) with her; while things fizzle between Scott and Leslie, things sizzle for Scott and Morgan. Scott soon suffers a near-career-ending injury, and Leslie is brought in to help him rehabilitate. I’m sure my love for basketball biased me, but Just Wright is a surprisingly sweet and charming little film. The two leads have good chemistry, and while most of the plot is highly clichéd, the film is done right.
