Governor Brewer is faced with the same tough economic decisions that effect us all when it comes to trying to balance the state's budget. But what family would deny health care to their own children in order to save money? Or to their mentally ill relative? Or to their poor cousin who can't seem to find work in this horrible economy? A rational family budget controller or single childless adult might consider getting a smaller car, or a more affordable house, or eat out less often. And what happens if you don't provide basic health care to those I mention? If they become ill and don't receive treatment, they will worsen, leading to a vast array of health problems which are more difficult to mitigate than the flu. If they don't seek "free" treatment at, for example, the emergency room at TMC, where healthcare generally costs around ten times that of a routine physician visit, they will eventually die. I find it hard to believe that this is what Governor Brewer wants, but if it looks like a duck...
