Re: “Sandra Day O'Connor: Fill the Supreme Court Vacancy

When the Democrats (both Harry Reid and chuck Shumer specifically) announced that they would not consider any Bush appointment to the court, Bush still had 18 months left in his presidency. Harry Reid even went to great lengths explaining how according to the constitution the senate was under no obligation to hold hearings. Don't take my word for it. Listen to Reid:…

Re: “Danehy

The House originates spending bills. It's in Article V, I believe, of the U.S. constitution. They offered the president a bill that funded the entire government except for the ACA. The president said no. They sent up other bills. The president said no. He would not even talk to the House. Therefore, THE PRESIDENT SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT. I'm not suggesting that you apply your vulgar epithet to the president, but I think it may be appropriate to call him "El Presidente" from now on.

Re: “Danehy

So the store manager sees the new sign go up and thinks to himself, "Great, now some recluse writer type will, after he's through staring at the fried chicken, get his undies in a knot and want to ask me why there is no hard number - as if the sign is some sort indication of the end of society as we know it. He's probably the type who would give someone unloading his cart shit about having 16 instead of 15 items, which is why the sign is going up in the first place - it's for people like he. The worst part is that no matter what I say he will not be satisfied, so I'll end up saying, 'Well, you know....', and even that will piss him off.......he'll probably write about it......I hope he does not name the store."

Re: “The Skinny

"Due process requires more than hearsay," Charlton said. "It requires more than politics. ... This had nothing to do with the law; it had nothing to with the Constitution. It had to do with political intimidation. ... It's wrong; it's unconstitutional; and it's wholly inconsistent with what the voters put in place with (2000's) Prop 106." - This statement is insane. It has everything to do with the law, and specifically, the constitution. Do you think that the Republicans made up this process? No! It is part of the very same Prop 106 that "the voters put in place"! It's a clever trick to portray this as some sort of criminal charge - which it is not! It is an administrative process, not a criminal indictment. You can view the enumerated violations of the IRC constitutional amendment here:… The Republicans would have been derelict in their duty were they to ignore gross misconduct of the "Independent" (actually Democrat) chairman. Will anyone report on this honestly?
