I've Loved You So Long

Kristin Scott Thomas can act. She proves this emphatically in this riveting character study of an emotionally lost woman from writer/director Philippe Claudel, playing a woman who gets released from prison after serving 15 years for murder. Living with her younger sister, brother-in-law and two nieces, the regretful ex-convict chain-smokes or has one-night stands just to get through the day. Viewers will be captivated—not only by Thomas’ powerful performance, but also by Claudel’s screenplay that reveals clues bit by bit.
