Though it’s not up to the standards of Shrek’s witty satirical screenplay or any of Pixar’s prestigious production values, this computer-animated feature with a cool $15 million price tag does manage to entertain. A goody bandit is on the loose, putting stores out of business. Therefore, a British amphibian interrogates a misunderstood wolf (Patrick Warburton), Little Red Riding Hood (Anne Hathaway), a Scandinavian lumberjack (James Belushi) and Granny (Glenn Close), who leads a double life as an extreme sports fanatic. As the four different points of view relay the events of the same day, quirky characters are introduced, and pop culture puns are sprinkled throughout. Despite the plastic-looking characters and forgettable songs, the rapid pace and originality pull you along for the lickety-split 80-minute ride.
