Heritage Foods Festival

Mesquite, prickly pear pads, native beans, agave nectar and dried chiles are featured along with baked goods made from these foods, from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug. 24; free admission. Samples of desert heritage foods and related cooking demonstrations begin at 10 a.m., including a presentation by Elizabeth's Garden staff, "How to Prepare Nopales and Cactus Pads for Eating," at 10 and 11 a.m. Call 918-9811 for more information.
