Handmade Water Lily Books

Artist Esteban Silva handcrafts books out of water lilies from Lake Patzcuaro, Michoacan. His sustainable practice removes the contaminating lilies from the lake while also repurposing the plants into durable multicolored pages. On Saturday, Feb. 14 from 6 to 10 p.m. Microgallery Mandibula, 35 E. Toole Ave., will display and sell his one-of-a-kind, environmentally responsible and artistically creative linocut books. Free to attend. More info can be found at the event Facebook page.
