Re: “Epic Café

The place is nice and laid back. It is great to be able to watch people go by in one of the few areas where there is actual foot traffic in this city. However, sometimes I feel as if the staff are a little prejudiced toward what I call the "hemp-necklace" crowd and can be quite dismissive toward people who don't wear the badges of their little alternative society, such as ragged clothes, multiple piercings, and tattoos.

Re: “At Least Tucson's Not Topeka

OK, I just moved out of that stupid town a year ago. And I thought Arizona politics was crazy. Please, please, can't I find a place to live where they don't "solve" their problems by making things worse for the people who have it bad enough already?

Re: “Hey Yellowbook, This Is Called Littering

I wouldn't mind the free phone book if it actually had all the numbers of all the businesses in town. But, for just about every business I have looked up in any phone book from any vendor in this town, they only list one or two locations for the business when I know there are more. Usually, the location closest to me is not listed - and I am in the center of town. Yes, I have internet, but sometimes it is just easier to open up the phone-book, like when I just shut down my computer.

Re: “Today in Terrible Prank Ideas

If someone did this to me, I would consider it intentional assault and have them brought up on charges. If that didn't stick, I would sue them. Just because you aren't touching a person does not mean you are not liable for the damage you do. Just as intentionally shining a LASER in someone's eyes is considered assault, so should this.

Re: “McCain: Torture Didn't Lead to Bin Laden

As much as I hate all the rest of McCain's ideology - and especially his behavior during the last presidential election - I have to applaud him for writing this piece. We need more politicians saying that "might doesn't make right" and we need the media to stop trying to make excuses for what has been an inexcusable chapter in our history.

Re: “Pima County Dem Boss on Ethnic Studies: "You Don't Acquiese To Bullies Who Peddle Hate, Racial Dischord and Divisiveness Because They Won't Go Away"

Dear Jeff Rogers,

Even though your analogy is relatively correct in that capitulation to bullies rarely get's one anything but more trouble, I really think it is time to leave the Hitler comparisons alone for three reasons: First, because they have been done so many times that all they do is make the comparison maker look stupid. Second, because it is a tactic heavily used by republicans and TEA partiers (see first reason). Mostly, though, one should avoid Hitler comparisons because - until and unless the comparee starts killing off three to four percent of the population - there really is no comparison, thus making the comparor look even more stupid.

There are certain groups of people who don't seem to mind looking stupid. In fact they seem to thrive on it. However, I don't think democrats should be among them.
