Editor please note this article is in error. According to the Arizona Secretary of State official website in multiple locations: "If the independent voter goes to the polls on Election Day they will be given the option to choose a party ballot at that time."

"If I am not registered with a recognized party, can I still vote in the Primary Election?

Yes. Arizona has an open primary law which allows any voter who is registered as an independent to cast a ballot for one of the officially recognized political parties."

Where are independent voters who comprise 30% of registered voters told they cannot vote in the Primary Election?
