I am 79 years old and never thought I would see the day when millions of Americans would embrace the idea of a fascist government. Unfortunately it is unfolding before our very eyes. The very party who claim to embrace small government are passing laws in virtually all red states for the government to interfere in the most personal and basic decisions that should be left to the individual. The US supreme court is now a right wing tool for the Trump Nazis to use in a takeover of our democracy.
Never could understand why anyone would want to go to a bar. I am 78, and when I turned 21 i was so excited I could now go to a bar and drink. Went a couple of times and found it was nothing but a bunch of drunks sitting on bar stools mouthing off. That ended my interest with bars and i have never gone back. I prefer to have a drink at home in the company of those I love, not a with a bunch of drunken fools.
It is also cruel punishment to release these people unto the streets where they will commit crimes against law abiding citizens. I'm sure they could enforce some kind of social distancing and the wearing of masks in prison.
It's a cute cartoon, but in reality Trump is scary. After Hitler came to power he got rid of the government and he became sole leader. Don't be surprised if Trump doesn't try it, and sadly he will have half the country on his side.
I noticed the democrats never mention our greatest president, FDR. They have actually referred to Reagan as a great president when he was the one who began the huge income equality gap. Bernie has both parties out to get him as they all defend their wealthy donors, and line their own pockets as well. There is really only one party when it comes to money, the democrats lean left in social politics only.
I realized a long time ago that the US is a dog eat dog country where it is every person for himself. No other industrialized country on the planet has the poverty, ignorance, lack of medical care, of lack of caring in general. The US is a country more obsessed with guns than caring about their neighbor. The wealthiest country in the history of the world. yet cant afford to educate its young, care for its elderly, or make health care, housing and food rights that everyone deserves.
I am not complaining for myself as I have always done fine. I leaned at a very young age how to become self employed and have been making a living that way for over 60 years. I still enjoy my work and make enough to enjoy live. I just have a sadness in my heart for millions who have not been able to make it and are simply pushed aside by a government obsessed with making sure the wealthiest stay that way and actually get wealthier on the backs of the common worker. America should be ashamed to call itself the land of the free, the great experiment, the exceptional nation, etc. Even Cuba, as poor as it is, offers one of the best health care programs in the world.
The left claims democracy yet goes berserk when the people vote conservative. The US does the same to other countries; democracy is only supported when the people vote the way the US government want.
