Re: “Chuck Bowden Remembers Jeff Smith

Loved and learned from his attitude.
As a fellow gimp, I shared and reinforced, through his writing, a healthy irreverence for conventional wisdom, observed from an unconventional perspective.
Rest painlessly and barrier-free. It's always downhill forever.

Re: “A Remarkably Fair Look at Tucson's Relationship With Guns

i agree with anon [above] and would add;

what would insure Harris is a good enough marksman to hit his target , under stress, in a crowd! what prevents other persons, also carrying firearms at the scene, from identifying Harris as another perp and opening fire on him, in a crowd!

handguns more often miss than hit their targets and qualified shooters know this and unless the shot is perfectly placed will not stop a determined attacker from continuing.

with a group of gun carrying amateurs , using their weapons to try to subdue a shooter in a crowded area the carnage of innocent bystanders could be manifest.

i am not in favor of gun control, but do favor the reduction of the unrealistic bravado perpetuated by those who claim their possession of a firearm makes us all safer.

Re: “Razing Arizona

Did it ever occur to you GVJane that the liberal press you are so quick to condemn provides you a forum to present your ideas. In your rush to BRAND you provide nothing in the way of problem solving.

Democracy depends on dialog not epithets. Why not suggest some ideas for a solution instead of background noise. We have a surplus of the self righteous and precious few who are willing to seek a collaborative solution.
