In a mere narcissistic exercise of self-grandeur, Ice Cube furthers the Friday franchise that he wrote, produced and stars in with this third installment of the foul-mouthed slacking stoners living their meaningless lives in Hollywood, or Hollyweed as they so cleverly call it. This time Cube and his bumbling cousin are, for some reason, back in their old ghetto neighborhood even though part two in this series left them living in the suburbs with their lottery-winning uncle. Nonetheless, the pothead pair are armed with whistles pulling rent-a-cop duty at a dilapidated strip mall while criticized carolers seek vengeance on those not in the Christmas spirit, a poster boy for steroids seeks vengeance on rent dodgers, and the two cousins seek vengeance on Santa Claus who robbed them Christmas Eve. However, all of this hair-brained vengeance-seeking among a caricature of a cast boils down to a nonsensical mess that leaves you hoping Ice Cube’s ego quells so there won’t be a Next Friday After the Friday After Next.
