Lots of violence, fountains of blood,
copious drug use and the occasional
teen breast make this the horror film that
fans of old-school (i.e. 1980s) slasher
flicks have been waiting for. Theres no
pointless post-modern ironic excursus on
the concept of the slasher flick, just a
slavish following of formula and the
added bonus of seeing both Freddy
Kreuger (Nightmare on Elm Street)
and Jason Voorhees (Friday the
13th) dismembering beautiful
teenaged boys and girls. Theres a "plot"
about Freddy sending Jason to Elm
Street to remind people of Freddys
existence so he can kill again, but it
doesnt get in the way of the blood-letting,
so it can easily be excused. Oddly, theres
also a good performance by Monica
Keena as Lead Virgin Lori Campbell, and
another by Chris Marquette as Nerd Boy
Who Loves Lori But Can Never Have Her.
Plus, you know, dismembering!
