For Your Fall Calendar

The college students are back in town and going to class. The number of calendar listings we're running is on the rise. Yes, it's still hot as hell, but cool(er) weather is on the way—after all a month ending in "ber" starts this week.

Fall is on its way—and here are some fall (or almost-fall) dates to keep in mind:

• Wednesday, Sept. 8: This is the date of the Tucson Area Music Awards, aka the TAMMIES. Things will get a-goin' at the Rialto Theatre at 6:30 p.m. We'll have more about the TAMMIES in this space next week.

• Thursday, Sept. 23: That's the issue date for the Best of Tucson®, our annual guide to all the fine things in this dusty burg—as chosen by you, the discerning Tucson Weekly reader. Again, we'll have more details as the date gets closer—but, for Pete's sake, be sure to mark your calendars!

• Thursday, Oct. 7: This is when our next Pride supplement—with features and a comprehensive events calendar for Tucson's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community—will hit the streets. We're already hard at work on this Pride supplement; if you have an events-listing request, e-mail Adam Borowitz at listings@tucsonweekly.com ASAP.

• Saturday, Oct. 16: This is the day when live, local music will reign throughout downtown Tucson—it's Fall Club Crawl®. Twenty or so stages plus 80 to 100 bands equals musical nirvana.

It's an exciting time here in Tucson. We look forward to spending it with you.
