Rated PG-13 · 130 minutes · 2011

This is definitely the best Fast and Furious movie since the original; I just can’t stand the characters played by Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. Director Justin Lin comes up with a couple of great sequences, the best being a train chase that ends with Diesel and Walker taking a long drop off of a bridge. The scene is a stunner—but you saw most of it in the trailers. The story is a dud, and when a film is 130 minutes long, the story matters, even in a brain-dead action pic. I didn’t hate this one; I actually almost liked it. Now get rid of Diesel and Walker, and make the story about The Rock (a newcomer to the series), and we will all have better times. A note to Jordana Brewster: You are way too skinny, and looking a little like Maria Shriver these days. Eat something, please.
