Tucson Fashion Week
Fashions by local designers are featured in a series of runway shows, chic parties and showcases focused on Tucson's style scene for the benefit of Old Pueblo Children's Academy and Skrappy's Youth Center. "Young Designers Showcase" takes place from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, at the Scottish Rite Cathedral (160 S. Scott Ave.). Free. "Stylists of Fashion" showcases hair and makeup artists from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., Thursday, April 28, at Surly Wench Pub (424 N. Fourth Ave.). $3; age 21 and older only. Events on Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30, are included in a single ticket: $25; $20 until Thursday, April 28. "Urban Baroque" features food, music and guest speakers in addition to fashion designs from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, at Sapphire Lounge (61 E. Congress St.). Age 21 and older, only. "Main Runway Event" features the work of 10 local designers; a bazaar with fashion, art and food vendors from throughout the state; and break-dancers and other entertainment in the intermissions from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday, on Scott Street between Broadway Boulevard and Congress Street.
