Editor's Note

Production Monday blues …

It's Monday—to you dear reader, that's last Monday, Aug. 29. We're hustling to get the paper to the printer. The final hours of production. Last minute details.

Reality is all I can think of is my coworker in the cubicle next to me—Jim Nintzel. I had the honor of editing his Skinny for this issue on his mother and her recent passing (See "Goodbye, Mom" in the Skinny). It's a wonderful tribute, but I only wish this past year had been easier for Nintzel, considering he's lost his dad, too. My coworkers and I at Tucson Local Media send our deepest condolences to the Nintzel family.

On a different note, one thing I noticed this production was Nintzel's enjoyment proofing Savage Love. I was happy to hear a little chuckle over there. I've worked with this person for almost nine years, and early on, when we'd proof the paper for production, he'd always reach for his favorite reads, one of which was Savage Love. So see, dear readers, you weren't alone missing this, as well as Ask a Mexican. As promised, they are back this month starting this issue.

Enjoy, and thanks for your emails and your readership.
