I've been writing about transportation in Pima County for well over a decade now, so I can tell you this unpleasant truth: You're not fixing the roads without money. And while there are probably better ways of paying for street repair than the short-term bonds Pima County is asking voters to approve in November, you're not going to see a gas tax increase at the state or federal level anytime soon.
So, if you're sick of driving on bad roads, vote yes on Prop. 463. We lay out more reasons in our endorsement.
And if you're going to vote against it, just know you're on the road to Pima County Supervisor Ally Miller's Crazytown—and you're gonna hit a lot of potholes along the way.
