First, don't telephone. That's the most difficult way to get in the paper. We receive information about hundreds of events each week, and can't possibly talk to each organizer by telephone. So...
E-mail us if at all possible. Information about events should be sent to [email protected] --please include what the event is, where it will be, when it will be and who's doing it, with a contact phone number or e-mail address.
If you don't have e-mail, you may send faxes to (520) 792-2096 or letters to Tucson Weekly, P.O. Box 2429, Tucson AZ 85702. But be warned: We get reams of paper and can't plow through them as efficiently as e-mail.
Also, please send us information well in advance--preferably weeks ahead--but at least by 5 p.m. Monday, 11 days ahead of our publication date.
Please, be as brief and succinct as possible. Who, what, when, where, why and how. Don't press-agent us.
Following these instructions doesn't guarantee your event will make it into the paper because of limitations of space and time. But we promise to do the best we can to get as many events published as possible.
If you're having problems getting your event into the paper, e-mail me at [email protected]-- I'll look into it and see if I can't tell you how you can improve your chances.
