Dust Devils

Tucson, a Magical Valley. Surrounded by beautiful mountains, in just the perfect configuration to create the perfect winds, to create the perfect weather. Occupied for thousands of years by people who believed their land to be part of their religion. The hearts and words of many prayers still linger in this desert. If thoughts are things, this land has been blessed many times, and could truly be called Tucson ... A Magical Valley

— Dan "The Deacon" Bunnell

(Editor's note: Dust Devils are reader-submitted fictional stories, 70 words exactly, that reflect on our Tucson life and times. Send your 70-word stories and, if selected, we'll print them in the Tucson Weekly: mari@tucsonlocalmedia.com. Looking forward to what you create, Tucson).
