Empty storefronts and homes lined up along Grant like prisoners standing against the wall waiting for the firing squad. The defunct movie theater and closed up barber shop bordering on decrepitness sit with deathly stillness. Last looks and last words for the edifices waiting for a purpose that will never be realized again. We are used to things getting washed away in the desert. Grant Road, the monsoon of asphalt.
