Some day, in the distant future, film
historians will write of a great man named
Kurt Russell, whose frown, and wrinkled
lips and sneer of cold command,
dominated the B-movie in an age when
there were no B-movies. Sadly, not content
with such masterpieces as Soldier
and Escape from New York, Kurt
has ventured occasionally into the realm of
serious film, with less than stellar results.
The producers of Dark Blue,
knowing Russells penchant for being
taken for more than just a scowling face,
tricked him with a script thats grade-B
action movie dressed up as social
commentary. Kurt plays a corrupt police
detective who blah blah blah car flips over
bad guys get shot blah blah blah. The lone
and level sands stretch far away.
