This incredibly inventive and original thriller from Tony Scott will keep you guessing and have you laughing with delight when it starts delivering the answers. It’s one of those cool science-fiction films where everything is normal by everyday standards, except for that one fantasy element (in this case, time travel). Denzel Washington plays an ATF agent investigating a ferry bombing and a mysterious death associated with it. The film goes along like a normal detective story for a clip, until it introduces a bizarre technology that allows law enforcement to view events from the past. All sorts of time-travel games are played, most of them completely outlandish. You won’t care how silly the film gets, because Scott, Washington and company manage to pull it off. Adam Goldberg, Jim Caviezel and Val Kilmer also star in one of the better sci-fi films of the year.
