Chess Fest
A human chess match, tournaments, a blindfold chess exhibition, chess puzzle contests, tips and tactics for beginners, and chess arts and crafts take place from 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 2. Newcomers to the game are especially welcome. 9 Queens co-founder and two-time American Women's Chess Champion Jennifer Shahade plays the Red Queen in the human chess match, and is available to sign copies of her book Play Like a Girl With Nine Queens.
