MAIS OUI! It's time to swoon en Paris when the Thursday installment of Cinema La Placita screens Gigi, starring Leslie Caron and Louis Jordan in the classic flick.

Bring the bug spray and enjoy the outdoor screening. It starts at 7:30 p.m. at La Placita Village at 110 S. Church St. at the corner of Broadway Boulevard. Plenty of ample parking is available at the La Placita parking garage on Stone Avenue just south of Broadway.

Enjoy dinner at La Placita's restaurants. The screening is free but $3 sure would help.

PRICKLY HEAT. Learn to cook with those mauve-colored prickly pears bouncing so bountifully off the cacti this time of year.

Civano Nursery hosts a series of free classes and Saturday's session offers tricks on making prickly pear ranch dressing and prickly pear lemonade. You'll also glean information on harvesting and handling those prickly fruits and the best way to store the juice. The class starts at 9 a.m. at 5301 S. WHAT D'YA SAY? Come hear about the realistic expectations for your hearing aids. Learn about new technology, hearing healthcare and how you can be a successful hearing aid wearer in an educational seminar presented by Carolyn Jaret, of El Dorado Audiology. She knows her stuff when it comes to dealing with the adjustments of living with a hearing-impaired individual as she has a close family member who has a hearing loss.

The one-hour lecture starts at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday and is free. El Dorado Audiology is located at 1200 N. El Dorado Place, Suite D430, just east of Wilmot and north of Speedway.

NO BALKING. Tucson's Balkan Peace Support Group hosts its Summer Film Series on Tuesday. Divided We Fall is a dark comedy featuring three friends in 1930s Czechoslovakia: one Jewish, one German and one Czech. The 2001 film won an Oscar for best foreign film.

Screening commences at 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Church at 4831 E. 22nd St. at the corner of Swan. Refreshments will be served before the program. It's free and open to the public. For details, call 623-8905.
