Winner of several Aussie Academy Awards, this powerful 1979 film centers around three common soldiers who become unfortunate political scapegoats, to cover for screw-ups by higher-ups during the brutal Boer War. The movie features tremendous performances by Brian Brown and Jack Thompson, as they try to prove their innocence against overwhelming odds.

Held every Thursday, this pentameter-minded gathering features an open mic and a featured speaker, followed by The Amazing DJ Dance Party. That means plenty of spouting and flouting all in one fell swoop.

TRINITY SESSION: The Holy Trinity Monastery fires up another pristine party among the verdant groves of St. David, near Benson.
Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, the monastery is known for these annual Festivals of the Arts. Increasingly popular, they get folks groovin' in a celestial way amidst some of Southern Arizona's prettiest scenery.
This year the brothers will host a homegrown pit barbecue in the dining room, Oriental and American chow in the Outside Inn, and a heavenly smorgasbord of chili, hamburgers, hot dogs, sodas and bakery items. Topping the list is the ever-popular Trinity lemonade.
There will also be a plethora of arts and crafts booths. Entertainment will be dished up by the Raw Deal band, Tongan dancers, the Benson Barbershoppers, and Our Lady of the Mountains Mexican and Irish dancers, all on the Rose Garden Plaza Stage. Basil and his gospel-rock group complete the roster on Sunday afternoon.
The Festival of the Arts runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, November 13 and 14, at the Holy Trinity Monastery. Take I-10 east to Exit 303. A FERRET EXCHANGE: Weasels galore will be frolicking at Ferret Friends' annual Fun Show.
This burrower's blow-out will feature ferret games, prizes, and appropriate to the tubular theme, a hot dog potluck. All ferrets and lovers of ferrets are welcome, but squirmy visitors must have current canine distemper and rabies vaccinations.
