Tucson Foodie, Tucson Doobie and title sponsor Prime Leaf Dispensary are hosting the inaugural 710Fest from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 10.
The high-energy event is 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at the Whistle Stop Depot (127 W. Fifth Street).
The evening will feature all-things cannabis, with music by DJ Halsero, mocktails thanks to Parch and Philters, live glass blowing presented by artists from Sunset Glass Gallery and crave-worthy eats from Cowpig Food Truck.
Tickets are $33.85 per person and can be purchased on eventbrite.com (Tucson Foodie Insiders and Tucson Doobie members get a special discount).
The festival is a nod to “dab day,” or “OIL,” which is upside down for July 10. It’s basically a “secret handshake for fans of wax, shatter, resin and rosin,” according to a statement.
Dispensary Partners joining Prime Leaf at 710Fest are D2, NatureMed and Earth’s Healing. Select cannabis brands will also be onsite with edibles, cannabis flower and more. Cannabis brands include Flav Edibles, OGeez Edibles, Timeless Vapes, High West Farms Flower and Halo Infusions Dessert Edibles.
The dessert edibles include brownies, Rice Krispies treats and chocolate bars.
“We’re really just going to focus on concentrates,” said Chrissy Mance of Tucson Doobie.
“Also, I want to make sure that people know that it’s an indoor event.”
The 710Fest comes on the heels of a successful 420Fest, which featured a cannabis-themed Easter egg hunt hosted by The Prime Leaf.
“We wanted to do something during the summer just to celebrate concentrates,” she said. “We have a great partnership with Whistle Shop Depot. Everything just lined up and it made sense for us to do this 710Fest.”
Mance, who has a background in marketing and advertising, became involved with Tucson Doobie after recreational cannabis use became legal.
“I saw that there was an opportunity to do some bigger-scale, professionally executed events,” Mance said. “I thought maybe there was an opportunity, too, to grow the community of cannabis lovers. That’s how Tucson Doobie was formed.”
Mance said it’s “really neat” to bring people together.
“Cannabis is a lot safer than alcohol,” she said. “We want to spread the word about cannabis, not only as a medicinal vehicle but that we can have fun. We can get a big group of people together. They can all try different products and socialize and make new friends.”
