Poor Chow Yun Fat. An international
superstar with the likes of Crouching
Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Hard
Boiled, he continues in his struggle
for a good American-made movie with
this intensely bad martial arts/buddy
comedy. Co-starring alongside Seann
William Scott (Stifler from the American
Pie movies), Fat seems lost as Monk
With No Name, a martial arts hero who
can defy gravity and deliver crap
one-liners. The film shamelessly rips off
the likes of Rush Hour, The Matrix,
and even American Pie with a
stupid pee joke, and its special effects
are distressingly sub-par. Fat is rumored
to be working with John Woo on his next
project, so thats encouraging. As for
Scott, he only experiences mild success
in his first foray into action superstardom.
He will next be seen in American Pie
3, where hell probably get bathed in
some type of disgusting bodily fluid.
