Re: “Preseason Scrimmage

More illegal immigration. More low wages. More welfare. The modern Democratic party.

Re: “Diane Douglas: "Public Servants Shouldn't Unionize"

Let me start by saying I completely agree with what the teachers are asking. They are shamefully underpaid and for a tiny cost, we could pay them in a way that suits their professionalism.

However, in many ways, public employee unions are very different from those in private industry. The most obvious being that private industry unions have no ability to organize and vote out their employer (the CEO) in a corporation. Only the stockholders can, through the board of directors. Public unions on the other hand wield tremendous power in elections that determine who their employers are.

This fundamentally changes the power dynamic between the union and its employers (elected politicians) and causes real problems for taxpayers, and eventually the unions themselves. Contracts negotiated by unequal negotiating powers often turn out to be bad for both sides.

One example of public employee unions' abuse of power is police pensions that have been pushing Tucson and many other cities to the brink of bankruptcy since the recession.

Re: “Eve of a Strike: Teachers and Districts Prep To Walk out of Schools This Week

"The district will also be providing breakfast and lunch services at select locations because, like many districts, a number of MUSD students rely on these meals."
Have to feed the illegal aliens' children so big businesses can continue to get fat on cheap labor.

Re: “Conservatives Told: Keep Criticizing Teachers, But Not About Their Pay or Perks

Teachers are shamefully underpaid and have been for years. They've done everything *but* strike and politicians have ignored them. What option is left? Of course they should strike.
Kids won't suffer by missing a few days of school. Parents who rely on schools to raise their children for them should rethink having children.

Re: “A Partial List Of UA Freedom Center's Funders

Wow, people with money are the largest contributors? Egads, stop the presses. I expected all the money to be supplied by people who don't have any money.
And heaven knows we need to reduce economic freedom and entrepreneurship.
