The Daily Shows Rob Corddry stars in this funny and strangely affecting mockumentary about former paintball champion Bobby Dukes. It seems that 10 years earlier, Bobby was caught wiping (i.e., removing the mark from a paintball hit) at a tournament, and has been banned from the sport for 10 years. Blackballed covers his attempts to make a comeback as he gathers a ragtag band of die-hard soldiers who are willing to spill paint for the cause. It plays like an extended Daily Show sketch, and I mean that in a good way. Its also an example of what can be done with a small budget and a lot of creative power: The performers are largely improv veterans, and their work is slick, character-driven and sickly funny. Definitely a diverting 90 minutes.
