Re: “Danehy

Gee folks, how many of you know that California has a law on its books that essentially says the same thing as SB 1070? The statute is 'California Penal Code 834b' and has been a law for years. Shouldn't the people protesting SB 1070 be protesting the fact that California law enforcement personnel can ask for the very same identification as SB 1070 covers under CPC 834b?

Do you now boycott California?

Re: “Luck and Fear

Driving by Rosie and Howards that evening you could not count the number of red-light vehicles surrounding the house.

Residents of this valley have known that the time would come when violence would escalate. It has been talked about for years and we have talked to law enforcement and have only received polite lip service.

We have told law enforcement for years that the illegals were using a trail between the Hunt's and my ranch and nothing was done about it. Today, as I drove up to my ranch, there was a Border Patrol agent checking for 'sign' along the trail. This is a comforting sight. The only question is, "How long will it last?"

A parting thought; a knock at the door, the dogs are barking, will we answer the door with a pistol in our hand? You bet! As Howard hunt said, ". . . the trust is gone."

Re: “Chico and the Monkey

After being broken into numerous times a numbness creeps in, "Oh shit, again?" At the same time a cold resolve begins to build and I pray I never come face-to-face with an illegal inside my home. My guns are well hidden but within easy reach. I will defend my family within a heartbeat. The unfortunate case will probably be that this illegal in my home is simply trying to get to Tucson and find work and his family is waiting nearby in the bushes. Do I know this? Is there a knife hidden in his boot? Will he attack in the next second? If he drops to the floor he might have a chance. If he moves towards me or someone else - - -
