Celebrate the beauty of cycling culture by joining the Bike Beautiful Processional Ride from Santa Rosa Park (19th St. and Meyer) at noon, Sunday, March 27th. The procession leaves at cruises through the car-less streets of Cyclovia Tucson, stops for surprises along the route, and ends at Armory Park (6th Ave. and 12th St.) for an all-inclusive bike fashion show and the crowning of Tucson’s new Bike Beauty Queen. Awards are granted to sharp looking ladies, gentlemen, cycles, and combos. Noise makers, floats, masks, and outrageousness are highly encouraged. Free. At 5 p.m. the celebration continues at the Hut (305 N. 4th Ave.) where Parasol Project, Bike-A-Stra, and BICAS host a bicycle themed gala featuring bike art, art bikes, a Parasol Circus featuring the WonderFools; Flight School Acrobatics; Orbital Evolution; live music on two stages featuring Golden Boots, 21 Pump Street, Logan Green, Technophobes, Mik Garrison, Johanna Pachelle and Bike-A-Stra (a re-purposed bike-part orchestra). $5 suggested donation. All proceeds benefit the Bike-A-Stra Sound Sculpture Series at Bicas. Visit parasolproject.com for more information.
