Adventure, Drama
Big Miracle is based on the true story of three gray whales that became trapped in ice in Alaska, and the effort to save them. John Krasinski, Drew Barrymore and Ted Danson all star as people involved in saving the whales, each for different reasons: Krasinski’s character wants to get noticed as a journalist; Barrymore’s character wants to bring attention to Greenpeace; and Danson’s character wants to improve his dickhead, oil-tycoon persona. The movie is a who’s-who of has-beens and soon-to-be has-beens. The film flopped at the box office, which is no surprise; it lacks a passion for its subject matter, and comes off as disingenuous bullshit.
