By now, everyone knows that Maynards serves some of the best pizza in town. But its patio holds a special place in the hearts of trainspotters; you can't enjoy a beer any closer to the trains unless that beer is wrapped in a brown bag. Note that there are two main phyla of trains: Ignore the soulless intermodal cars stacked with shipping containers, and groove on the old-fashioned mixed trains, composed of a variety of cars for different kinds of cargo, often painted by spray-can artists in far-off cities. Look for hoboes in open boxcars, and see if you can spot hopper cars, gondolas and tank cars. Look for three types of flatcars: bulkhead, center beam and vehicular. Don't forget to wave to the engineer.
