PDQ Records was recently converted into some bizarre bazaar. Enter Twist and Shout, opened by Fantasy Comics owner Tom Struck and staffed with some PDQ expatriates. The affinity for polyvinyl chloride is as palpable here as a pirate's love of booty or a fat kid's lust for cake, and the range of titles spans the entire pop music idiom. On top of which, it's really the only outlet for record collectors, except thrift stores and the occasional record show. And if you're unfamiliar with the myriad pleasures of the vinyl experience, do yourself a favor--obtain a record player (not such a difficult or expensive task) and listen to music how God intended. Then go out and keep Twist and Shout in business.
