Vietnamese food as a whole might not be the easiest to eat gracefully, but it is delicious. The menu as a whole is incredibly affordable, with very few items above $10. Everything is delicious, so those new to Vietnamese cuisine should feel comfortable trying something new. There are a few familiar, safe dishes towards the back of the menu—but if your date isn't into pho, you probably shouldn't be seeing them anyways.
