When the UA's Arizona Repertory Theatre produced the grand Stephen Sondheim musical Into the Woods, the troupe created wonderfully imaginative characterizations. But it was Milky White, the cow of Jack (of beanstalk fame), who was from the get-go the "cow-acter" who grabbed your heart and wouldn't let it go. Zachary Jamison donned an amazing costume created by Patrick Holt, and scampered, plodded, pleaded, submitted, hoped and despaired, all without uddering a word, and with a mask that never changed expression. In an athletic and agile performance, Jamison was not just a cow, but a cow we cared about. Udderly.
