Reid Park

The appeal here has to be the acres of green, green grass and the tall, shady trees. Of course, you'll find the usual playground equipment and some new-fangled stuff, but ball fields, a soccer field, a duck pond and, of course, the Reid Park Zoo are also a part of the park. First dedicated in 1925, this park is an ideal family fun spot. Grills, picnic tables and ramadas are found throughout. You will need reservations for the ramadas (for a nominal fee). The zoo holds several holiday events created just for families. On summer nights, softball games can be a great source of free entertainment. Just like the good ol' days.
