A part of the local community for seven decades (decades!), the Humane Society of Southern Arizona has become one of the region's most influential animal welfare organizations. The no-kill shelter hosts hundreds of volunteers, who are responsible for more than 150,000 hours of work a year. Dog walkers, foster pet-parents and clerical volunteers are all welcome; the Humane Society is good to go on paws, but is always looking for the opposable thumb benefits of an extra helping hand.
