Sabino Canyon has been a favorite for generations of Tucsonans who have spent lazy days playing in the cool ponds and invigorating hours hiking on the trails. One of the most popular trails is to Seven Falls, which is 2 1/2 miles from the trailhead. An activity favored by many is riding the tram up to the last stop and then strolling leisurely down, admiring the birds, flowers and occasional wild animals. Fire and rain have sometimes made enjoyment of this area difficult in the last few years. This summer, enough floodwater coursed down Sabino Creek to float a brigantine. Many of the trails were washed out and closed. Call 749-2861 for information about the trails and the tram schedule.
