READERS' POLL RUNNER-UP: Westward Look Resort, 245 E. Ina Road. Let's see... 80 acres of unspoiled desert in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains; casita-style rooms with real hacienda charm, including beamed ceilings, mini-bars, coffee service and large bathrooms with separate dressing areas; a Wellness Center that features massages and facials; a fitness center, room service, three heated pools, casual but elegant dining (see the profile of Executive Chef Jason Jonilonus on page 80 for details), privacy and tranquillity. These all sound like good reasons for parents to escape to the Westward Look Resort. But let's not forget what the resort lacks: no noses to wipe, homework to extract, refereeing fights over Pokemon cards, dogs to let out, lunches to pack.... We could go on and on, and in fact sometimes we do. Did we mention summer rates, pampering, sun-bathing, the dog's sensitive stomach...?
