Like its name suggests, Casa Libre is a house on Fourth Avenue. Readings are held in the library, there's a swamp cooler instead of a/c, and the room is small, forcing everyone to group together in a very friendly manner. But that's all part of the charm. There's even a resident cat that will sit on your lap if you're lucky. Directors Kristen Nelson and T.C. Tolbert are incredibly inclusive, supporting writers of all ages and backgrounds—and they're some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet! Drop by for any of the events they have posted on the website and get ready to feel right at home.
